COMPOSITE MANUFACTURE

FIBREGLASS
The advantages of composites are low tooling cost, high strength-to-weight ratios and the ability to create complex shapes that combine to make a range of purpose-specific FRP parts. We are experienced OEM suppliers and offer contract composite manufacturing services to industry. We can work to Mylar, dimensional drawing, sketch or CAD Laminating technologies include open mould, hand or chopper gun lay up and closed mould lightweight RTM. The process used is based on production volumes and configuration. Materials used include polyester, vinylester, epoxy and phenolic resins in combination with fibreglass, carbon or kevlar reinforcements, depending on customer specification. Our quality systems are ISO 9001 - 2000 compliant and we deliver JIT. We have twice been awarded Supplier-of-the-Year by one of our largest customers.

We understand that composites moulding usually requires a local presence. Accordingly, certain composite contracts warrant and would benefit from our being located close to our customer; it is part of our growth strategy to offer this service in the right circumstances. We work with our customers in partnership for mutual benefit. We are proactive in our approach, and highly reactive to the needs of our customers.
LIGHTWEIGHT RTM
This is a closed mould process which provides uniform, repeatable wall thickness and a smooth finish on both faces. Although tooling costs are increased, production times are improved, wastage minimised and emissions reduced.
RAIL TRIM PANELING
Bolwell supplied FRP interior components for the new Xtrapolis
Connex trains. Window trims and doors were made from fire
retardant resin and were supplied as ready-to-fit sub-assemblies.
